Renting a Limousine
So, you thought all limousines were the same? Think again! There are plenty of options, depending on your budget and the size of your prom party. It is helpful to know the limousine lingo when you call the company, so get clued in with this handy guide.
Standard Limo Sedan ( 3 passengers)
Even though most people think of a stretch limo, a standard size luxury sedan like a Cadillac or a Lincoln is also a limousine. It's perfect for the small group or couples that really want to make an entrance, and it's usually less expensive.
Standard Stretch (6 passengers)
This is a great choice for groups of several couples that want to split up the cost of riding in style. A standard stretch is generally 70 inches or so from the driver's seat to the rear seat.
Executive Stretch ( 6-8 passengers)
From the driver's seat to the rear seat is approximately 72-100 inches.
Super Stretch (10 passengers)
Five couples will fit nicely in this extra long limousine. From the driver's seat to the rear seat measures at 120 inches. That is 10 feet!
Ultra Stretch (14 passengers)
This attention grabber is at least 165 inches from the driver's seat to the rear seat.
Exotic Stretch
This limo class is made up of vehicles of all sorts: stretch PT Cruisers, New Beetle Limos, stretch Mercedes -to name a few. Check with several limo companies to find the perfect fit.
Stretch Sport Utility
The sportier the better, and these limos will definitely make an impression. Excursion, Expedition, Escalade, GMC Yukon, Hummer, Navigator, and others all come in the long limo style.
Party Bus (20-28 passengers)
If you want to save some cash and you have lots of friends, this is the way to go. With a large group most companies will give a group discount.
Double-Decker or Trolley Bus (28 - 64 passengers)
Think tour guides and PA systems. Finding one of these rides may be a little more complicated, but has potential to upstage the prom for fun factor.
