Etiquette

Whether its dinner or meeting the parents of your date, being on your best behavior is another way to ensure an excellent prom night. Consider these helpful hints.

The Corsage or Boutonniere: Ladies, unless you want a tear in your dress, hint to your date that you want a wrist corsage. A strapless dress doesn't lend itself to pinning. If you have a shorter dress, try an ankle corsage!

A little known fact: both should be pinned or worn on the left side- the same side as the heart. And while we are on the subject, both should be worn up, in the direction that the blooms grow.

Don't Forget Your Dinner Manners: Here is a quick run down on the etiquette of eating. Ladies choose their seat and order first. Everyone should place their napkins on their laps, and no elbows on the table! Leaving your napkin on your chair when you get up signifies to the waiter that you are not finished with your meal. Leaving it on the table indicates that you are ready for your plate to be taken away.

Confused about the silverware? Start from the outside and work in. The outside fork is for the salad, the inside for the dinner. The rounder spoon on the outside is for soup.
